'Hands-on' Human Evolution
Gallery Talks & ToursFriday, May 16, 2025, 11am – 1pm EDT

Curious about what our ancestors used their hands for? Want to give an ape or a hominin a high-five? Come Join Amy Little, a master's student at The George Washington University, to get up close and hands-on with ancient hominin and modern primate hands and compare them to your own. Feel the differences between human hands, our extinct relatives like Neanderthals and Australopithecus, and our living primate cousins. Discover how hands help tell the story of tool use, climbing, creativity, and what it means to be human.
