Matthew McDermott manages IT operations across the National Museum of Natural History. He has served as the Museum’s head of IT since 2006, additionally serving a six-month detail as the Smithsonian’s Director of IT Operations in 2012. Previously held positions include Program Manager at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), as well as technology and planning positions in the private sector for units of Thomson Financial, NBC and Dow Jones. Matthew has a BA from the College of Wooster.
