Isabella Reyes

Ocean DNA Intern

Isabella Reyes is an Ocean DNA Intern at the Smithsonian Marine Station with the Benthic
Ecology Lab. She is involved in advancing the use of environmental DNA (eDNA) for long-term
ecological monitoring in the Indian River Lagoon (IRL). Her work includes assisting with the
collection, processing, and sequencing of eDNA samples, building genetic reference libraries for
local invertebrate species, and contributing to specimen processing and data management.
