In this program, museum educators teach about decorator crabs, amazing ocean animals that “dress up” using objects found in their habitat! We explore science concepts like camouflage while you use materials at home to create your own decorator crab art project. 

Materials You Will Need

Please have the following materials ready at the start of the video:

  • 8.5 x 11" piece of paper
  • A small container, like a yogurt cup, or a fruit container
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape 
  • Crayons , markers, or colored pencils
  • Materials to decorate your crab. You can use whatever you want but some ideas are: colored paper, buttons, sequins, glitter, yarn, felt or fabric scraps, and stickers.
