Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wilkinson in 1978.
This diamond can be worn as a ring, or detached from the shank and worn as a pendant, hence the name ringdant. A 22 carat emerald cut diamond is the centerpiece of this design inspired by a ballerina’s tutu. The diamond is extremely high in clarity (VVS-1) and exhibits a beautiful light yellow color. The ringdant also features tapered baguette and round brilliant cut diamonds that have a total weight of approximately 5.40 carats. The Wilkinson Ringdant is on display in the Gem Gallery at the National Museum of Natural History along with the Victoria-Transvaal Diamond and the Wilkinson Diamond Brooch, also gifts of the Wilkinsons.
