The World & Me: Life ON and IN the Water!
Kids & FamiliesSaturday, August 2, 2025, 10am – 12pm EDT

Join us for a special The World & Me as we explore life IN and ON the ocean with our friends from Living Classrooms! Come explore life on the water with the crew of the historic Living Classrooms Foundation vessel MILDRED BELLE, a 1948 Chesapeake Bay Buyboat. Join these professional mariners to explore the maritime history of the Chesapeake Bay, learn about traditional sailing tools, and try your hand at tying a variety of practical knots.
About Living Classrooms Foundation
The Living Classrooms Foundation (LCF) Department of Maritime Education has provided students with unique, hands-on programs since 1985. These dynamic, “learning by doing” programs emphasize applied learning in STEM and history. Leadership and teamwork are key objectives as students work together to support the operation of historic ships, trawl for marine life, perform scientific tests and explore the commerce, history, natural resources, and ecosystems of the Chesapeake Bay.
