Volcanic Eruption: How Far the Ash Will Fly
Gallery Talks & ToursWednesday, June 11, 2025, 11am – 12:30pm EDT

Description
When volcanoes erupt, they can send ash high up in the atmosphere. The ash can travel hundreds or thousands of kilometers, affecting climate and threatening aviation. What allows ash to travel so far? Come talk to Miraz Hossain, volcanology grad student, learn about volcanic eruptions and their deposits, and how scientists study volcanic ash.
