Description

During this program, families will explore storytelling and art to learn and communicate about science. Paleontologist Vera Korasidis shares a story about a Tylosaurus, an extinct large marine reptile, from the book Tylosaurus, written by Gerry Bailey and illustrated by Karen Carr. After the reading, she and Museum Educator Katie Derloshon discuss how paleontologists learn about life from long ago and the different ways scientists share their knowledge. At the end of the program, families are invited to create a story or artwork to share what they have learned through storytelling and art.

Please have the following materials ready at the start of the program:

  • Blank paper
  • Pencil
  • Coloring supplies (crayons, markers)
