Paleoanthropologist Rick Potts, Director of the Smithsonian’s Human Origins Program, shares his creative response to this situation and describes how he was able to conduct a "virtual" field season at two sites in Kenya in the summer of 2021 in collaboration with colleagues from the National Museums of Kenya.
