All Smithsonian museums in Washington, D.C., including the National Zoo, and in New York City are temporarily closed to support the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. We are not announcing a re-opening date at this time and will provide updates on a week-to-week basis.
Webinar: Natural History at Home – Tylosaurus Story Time
The Zoom webinar with Museum Educator Gale Robertson and Paleontologist Laura Soul aired May 2, 2020, as part of the Natural History at Home series. Watch a recording in the player above.
During this program, families will explore the question, "How do we know what we know about animals that lived long ago and are no longer alive today? How do we know about the habitats they lived in?" Paleontologist Laura Soul leads a story time about the Tylosaurus, an extinct large marine reptile. After the reading, she shares an art activity that you can do at home.
