NMNH Inclusive Staircase Initiative
Karen is leading a major initiative whose goal is to transform the culture of and training opportunities from kindergarteners to postdocs and every student stage in between at NMNH. One of the primary goals is to build partnerships with other institutions to provide opportunities for their students at NMNH to learn about science research, collections, exhibits, education and outreach, and museum management. Life in One Cubic Foot Exhibit
Karen served as a scientist, photographer and graphic designer on the Biocubes exhibit that was at NMNH from March 2016-July 2018 and it now traveling to different venues around North America.
International Polychaete Day
Declared here at NMNH in memory of Kristian Fauchald whose birthday was July 1st. International Polychaete Day is celebrated on this day each year to increase knowledge of this important group of animals. Genome exhibit
Karen served as the primary NMNH scientist on the committee that created the Genome exhibit. The exhibit was on display at NMNH for just over a year and is now traveling to different cities.
