Biography

Amanda joined the Collections Program in 2012 as a Collections Program Technician (CPT). She has worked in all seven scientific departments at the National Museum of Natural History. As a CPT, Amanda's duties include using digitization techniques to enhance specimen records, proofreading specimen records and correcting errors, cataloging specimens into KE EMu, and re-housing specimens using archival materials. Highlighted projects Amanda contributed to include cataloging the Swallow Collection, inventorying the Antarctic Meteorite Collection, conducting a species level inventory in the Entomology Department, and cataloging the Terrestrial Paleomammals. Amanda has also worked on two rapid capture projects and one rapid capture pilot project. She is interested in collections management and preventative conservation.
