Biography

Kayla began working in museum collections when she was 16 in the Anthropology Department of the Milwaukee Public Museum. She quickly realized that working with museum objects sparked her curiosity and led to unexpected connections between people, objects, and places. Kayla attended Beloit College, where she pursued these interests within their Anthropology and Museum Studies programs. She worked in the collections of the Logan Museum of Anthropology during her undergraduate career, and became even more interested museum anthropology, ethnographic collections, and collections management. Kayla completed her master's degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder in the Museum and Field Studies Program, and worked in the Botany and Anthropology collections at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History.
