Catalog number NMNH 177451, The Berns Quartz, from the Smithsonian's National Gem and Mineral Collection, on display in the National Museum of Natural History's Evans Gallery. The Berns Quartz, recovered from Ron Coleman Mine, Arkansas, in 2016, is one of the largest quartz specimens on display anywhere. Comprising two pieces that fit together, the specimen weighs a total of about 9200 lbs. and is covered with glittering quartz crystals.
