Red-headed Woodpecker

Capt. Lewis, September 9 1805--two of our hunters arrived, one of them brought with him a red-headed woodpecker of the kind common to the U.'States. This is the first of the kind I have seen since I left the Illinois.

Capt. Lewis, July 16, 1806--saw red-headed woodpeckers

Capt. Lewis, August 3, 1806--we saw the red-headed woodpecker.
