Kimberlites: The Volcanoes that Carry Diamonds
Gallery Talks & ToursFriday, December 6, 2024, 2:30 – 4:30pm EST
Description
Kimberlites are rare types of volcanic eruptions that rise from the depths of the Earth’s mantle, sometimes picking up diamonds and blasting them up to the surface. Come and talk to Sarah Brooker about the role that kimberlites play, not just in transporting diamonds, but in revealing the geological workings of the inner Earth.
