The History of White-Tailed Deer Hunting
Gallery Talks & ToursThursday, February 20, 2025, 1 – 3pm EST

Description
With the large numbers of deer that wander through our backyards and in front of our cars, you would never know that the species nearly went extinct a century ago. Come learn from historical ecologist Dr. Elic Weitzel about how Native Americans hunted deer, how deer hunting changed when Europeans arrived, and how deer populations recovered in the 20th century.
