This special bird walk is open to everyone of all ages, and dedicated to Black Birders Week to raise awareness about the ways African Americans engage with nature, and to celebrate, uplift and support their appreciation for birds. Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens is one of the best places in the District for bird watching. Over 250 species of birds have been seen in the park! Together, Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens, and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History are supporting this event.
What to bring: Family and friends, clothes that provide protection from the sun, sunblock, plenty of water, and binoculars if you have them. The Park has a limited number of binoculars to share.
