Redrim (Biblis hyperia)

Geographic Distribution: North, Central and South America. From Central and South America north to Texas.
Wingspan: 50-76mm (2-3 in).
Larval host plants: Noseburn (Tragia volubilis).
Habitats: Subtropical forest.
Identification: Top side of wings is velvety black, with a distinctive red band on the hindwings.
