The Clipper (Parthenos sylvia)

Living image of The Clipper Family: Nymphalidae (brush-footed butterflies).
Geographic Distribution: Asia (southeast Asia). Sri Lanka through Malaysia to Papua New Guinea.
Wingspan: 100-108 mm.
Larval host plants: Adenia palmata and Tinospora cordifolia.
Habitats: Tropical forests.
Identification: Variable coloration but pattern fairly constant. The wings can be blue, green or orange with translucent white forewing patches with black markings. The underside is much paler.
