Chiapan Climbing Rat

Order: Rodentia
Family: Cricetidae

Conservation Status: Critically Endangered.

Chiapan Climbing Rats are critically endangered - if, in fact, they are a separate species, and not a subspecies of Peters's Climbing Rat, Tylomys nudicaudus. They are known only from the place where they were originally found by scientists early in the 20th century, and are indistinguishable externally from Tylomys nudicaudus.

Range: Head and Body: 170-255 mm; Tail: usually 200-250 mm
