| Toltec Cotton Rats are found in the lowlands and foothills of eastern Mexico, on the Yucatan Peninsula, and in northern Guatemala. Like other cotton rats, they are stocky, medium-sized animals with somewhat harsh fur. They tend to need grass in their habitat, but are able to eat a variety of foods, which gives them flexibility about where they can live.
