Reithrodontomys tenuirostris

Narrow-nosed Harvest Mouse

Order: Rodentia
Family: Cricetidae

Conservation Status: Vulnerable.

Narrow-nosed Harvest Mice have been found in cloud forests in Mexico and Guatemala. They seem to prefer the coldest, wettest, slopes in mature, broadleaf forests. They are fairly large, and their long, soft fur is darkish in color. They have long ears and a small dark ring around each eye. They are apparently semi-arboreal, spending part of their time in trees, but almost no information is available about their lifestyle or reproductive habits.

Range: Total Length: 200-231 mm; Tail vertebrae: 120-129 mm
