Zempoaltepec Deermouse

Conservation Status: Critically Endangered. This species is found in a single location with continuing decline of habitat.

Zempoaltepec Deermice live high in humid mountain forests in northcentral Oaxaca, Mexico. Deermice in the genus Habromys are medium-sized and have somewhat woolly fur, big eyes and ears, and broad feet that are an asset given their semi-arboreal habits.
