Chinanteco Deermouse

Conservation Status: Critically Endangered. This species is found in a single location with continuing decline of habitat.

Chinanteco Deermice live only in the Sierra de Juárez mountains in Oaxaca, Mexico, at elevations of 2,080 to 2,650 m. They are very similar in apearance to Jico Deermice, which are found at slightly lower elevations in the Sierra Madre Oriental mountains.

Range: Head and Body: 80-140 mm; Tail: 87-145 mm
