| Bats in the genus Rhogeessa occur only in Mexico, Central and South America, and some islands in the region. All of them are very tiny and have long, narrow, pointed ears. They have yellowish fur and no nose leaf. Their long tails reach to the tip of the tail membrane. They all echolocate to find the tiny insects they eat. The Slender Yellow Bat is known only from Mexico and the Tres Marias Islands, off Mexico's west coast. Details of its lifestyle remain to be discovered.
