Bronze Age Cypriots excelled in pottery. They created a variety of vessels, fired in simple kilns, for storing, cooking, and serving food and drink. Settlers from Anatolia brought a style of pottery known as Red Polished ware, in which pots were coated with liquid red clay, polished, and often decorated with incisions before firing. This became the dominant ceramic style of Cyprus's Early and Middle Bronze Age.
